Simon Saturday

Hey lovelies, I hope you are having a great start to your weekend ?

I have taken a little bit of a break from Simon Saturday, mainly because it has been so hot here that I haven't been able to craft. It has now cooled slightly...I am hoping the weather forecast is wrong about it hotting up again !

With the temps being so high it seemed fitting that I use Simon's One Cool Pineapple stamp set which came with the last Simon Says Stamp card kit....Have you seen the new one thats gone on sale today !! its gorgeous and you can find it by clicking below.

Something I have noticed lately is I have stopped planing my cards and just sat down and created, and I am really enjoying it. Im not sure how long it will last, but for now I am loving crafting this way.

If you haven't seen the One Cool Pineapple set it is a 6x8 set full of all things fun and summer. It is currently out of stock, but make sure you hit that notify me button and they will let you know as soon as it is back in stock.

The first card I knew I had to stamp the Pineapple and add the fun sunglasses from the set.

I water coloured the piece, not doing anything fancy at all and added the You're one cool pineapple sentiment underneath.

Once that was dry I took a gold gel pen and added some detailing.

The paper I used is from Carta Bella Summer Splash paper pad and I used Simons Bright Yellow card stock. I thought it needed something else so dug out some enamel dots.

For the second card I used the fish stamp from the stamp and randomly stamped them onto some water colour card and going with a rainbow type theme I watercolored all the fishes and background.

Once they dried I took various colours I had used and added some splatter. I couldn't resist adding some of Studio Katia's Googly eyes for a little bit of fun.

These were quite quick cards to create...the longest thing was the drying. This stamp set is so much fun to create with and I LOVE that Simon is doing larger stamp sets now.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I always wanted to thank the people who emailed me asking if I stopped this series...I really did just need a break and as long as people want me to continue with it I shall.

I hope you all have a great weekend, happy crafting.

  1. Your pineapple is pure delight; your fish, a school of sensational! Two fabulous creations, both of which have planted a mega watt smile on my face! Love your Simon Saturday series, so please continue to dazzle us with your amazing inspiration. I hear you about heat...I don't function when it's too hot...and we're in for a week of high temperatures here, too. Hopefully, my mojo won't melt *grin*
