IMG-4536-2

I wanted to keep the card quite clean and simple as this is such a large stamp. I coloured the image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers and then added the word die and sentiment along the bottom of the card.

IMG-4537-2

I love that Ruby is doing this hop and cannot believe she has only been crafting for 4 years !

I am a bit of a dinosaur and started crafting over 18 years ago now...clear stamps wasn't even around when I started. But I have loved watching this industry grow and have made some lovely crafty friends over the years.

I love to create and have always been amazed that what starts as a piece of card ends up becoming something that can brighten someones day.

For me crafting is sometimes an escape, I have a lot of health issues and when I pick up that piece of card I can forget about them whilst I create.

I am very blessed that I have a very understand husband who encourages my crafting. I am also extremely lucky to have worked with some amazing companies over the years, as well as some fantastic crafters.

I'd love to know why you all create ?

The next person on the hop list is there lovely Dana Joy

Make sure you leave all the designers lots of love and a huge thank you to Ruby for putting this hop together.

Happy Anniversary Ruby and I hope to see you continuing to create for many more years.

Happy Hopping & Crafting.

  24. A beautifully colored floral card!! I make cards for the pure enjoyment of it! I love sending cards to loved ones. I have been stamping since 1998. So many new products have come into existence since then and I like having dies and many different coloring media to use for making cards these days.

  28. Oh Tracy, your colouring (and the entire card itself) is second to none, what a stunning bloom! You nailed it!
I guess I am a dinosaur as well as I bought my first stamp in 1999! It is more theraputic than I could have imagined. It has seen me through the empty nest stage and menopause...HAHA (True story as sad as it is!) However, it was a great way to forget my troubles and visiting this community of folks via card blogs lifts me up each and every day, so THANK YOU ALL!

  52. Oh Tracy, I don't know if I can truly describe how awed I am over your card. Your choice of colour & the shading you did makes me feel like I could reach into the very centre of that peony & feel the velvet softness of the petals. It looks 3D & that is not something easily achieved. At least not in my world. :) I worked with much pain for years on my feet & finally saw a specialist who told me I have a rare condition & needed a sit down job or I was going to end up in a wheelchair, sooner rather than later. He wrote a letter to that effect & I gave it to my supervisor (union job) on a Friday & on Monday I was no longer working. She told me there were no sit down jobs available & she wasn't going to be the one to put me in a wheelchair & I was out of a job. Even though they took me off work it was a 3 year struggle to get disability from them & the Insurer. Finally, in desperation I applied for a Federal Disability Pension & got it & once that happened, the fight was over & they complied as well. I live with pain in varying degrees every day with other issues as well. Needless to say, I needed a hobby & this is the one I chose. I love making cards, but I am not an artistic person, so it didn't come really easy. I have made headway though & have come a long way. Still have a long way to go though... I know there are gifts to be won on this hop (& wouldn't it be loverly), but seeing all this beauty & creativity is a gift in itself. Sorry if I've rambled. TFS!

  83. Hey, I'm a dinosaur too. We've been around long enough to see trends make a second or third loop around the crafting world( vellum, ink smooching, sequins, twine, washi tape.) I remember the days of paper crafting magazines and brick and mortar paper crafting shops too. It's nice to see the community part of the industry grow with interaction between designers, businesses, bloggers and ordinary crafters. I've followed some designer so long they seem like personal friends now. BTW I like your bright beautiful card. Keep on card making.

There's something so relaxing when losing oneself in paper crafting. TFS and thanks to Rubeena for putting this hop together, and to all of the sponsors and crafters who have generously donated and made this hop such a huge success. A very blessed evening to all!

  116. I'm so sorry to be late getting here, Tracy. Can't seem to keep up & I'm retired, so that's crazy! Anyway, this card is a stunner--gorgeous coloring & design! I'm a dinosauer, too--stamping for over 20 years. I remember saying I wasn't interested in clear stamps when the first ones came out--haha! Having totally no artistic talent, stamping lets me be artistic & I love using that side of my brain. I don't have to draw or even color--just use stamps & inks--& now, of course, dies!
