Simon Saturday | Sending Sunshine

Hey lovelies, I hope you are having a great weekend. The sun is out in full force here today and hubs is in the garden painting our patio fence whilst I am sat here in the cool crafting :)

If you didn't see my post in the week I am sorry that there was no Simon Saturday last weekend, I was poorly and unable to craft.

This week Simon Had its latest release Sending Sunshine. I share a couple of my cards made with one of the new dies and that post can be found here

Today I am sharing another two cards I created using products from the release. So grab a cuppa and read on.

If you haven't checked out the latest release from Simon I have listed all the products on my last post. I know some have sold out, but you can sign up to be notified when they are back in stock.

A very pretty and dainty set from the release called Wreath Greetings instantly caught my eye when i received it, It has some beautiful sentiments, but also the image stamps included are beautiful and i knew i wanted to created a very clean and simple design.

I used Tattered Rose Distress Oxide ink and blotting most of it off the blending tool i lightly built up the layers making sure to try and get that soft blend.

Once that was done I heat embossed the main wreath stamp from the sent using Simon's White Fine Detail embossing powder, I used one of my Arteza Brush Pens (review coming soon) to add some darker color to the little buds and heat embossed the sentiment in the centre using Simon's Rose Gold Embossing powder.

I was going to mount this onto a white card base but decided to go with a light grey one instead and like how it turned out.

As you can see there is lots of wreath style elements in the stamp set, I really like this set and can see it being used all year round.

For my next card I used the Leafy Frame Stencil along with my Distress Oxides and a sentiment from the Four Seasons Sayings Stamp Set

This is a lovely stencil, but I would advise using a repositionable adhesive with it, I didn't and did end up with some bleeding of ink...I kinda like how it turned out, but if you want nice crisp finish id certainly go with the repositionable adhesive.

I was going for a sunset type blend with my oxides...not sure if i achieved it, but I still like the result. I added some water splatter and once dry I die cut using Simon's Wonky Rectangle Die and stamped the sentiment using Simon's Black ink.

To finish off I added some Droplets from Studio Katia and adhered to a top folding A2 card.

How fantastic is that sentiment ? I really love this sentiment and it is so true !

Simon Is having a 2 day blog hop to celebrate this release which you can check out here

I have plenty of other cards planned with items from this release :) so keep your eyes peeled.

What's your favourite product from this release ? and have you gone shopping yet ?

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have an amazing weekend.

Happy Crafting

  1. Oh my goodness--you're such an enabler, Tracy--haha! Can't stop looking at the first card & will have to case it with something I already have! That wreath set immediately caught my eye, but I'm having trouble justifying another wreath since I have so many already. I also gravitate to leaf images--kinda goes with wreaths, huh?!--so that stencil also caught my eye when the release was revealed. Your card is beautiful--love the colors you used! My cart keeps changing, but as of right now I plan to get the Spring Flower Burst set & the Stamp Flower cluster die. Good job having hubby doing the painting while you craft--haha! Sending hugs, Greta

I'm the same as you I'm always drawn to those type of sets.
Thank you so much for your kind comment my lovely friend. I can't wait to see what you create, I know it will be something amazing ❤️❤️❤️

  3. Sunny here, too...but the wind! Oh my stars! We were officiating bike races yesterday and I was dressed in 5 layers as the wind was so blustery and chilly! Fingers crossed that it will have simmered down for today's events! Your pairing of the embossed wreath and Tattered Roses inks: soft, delicate and ever so lovely! Your stenciled leaves definitely frame a pretty sunset and a powerful, 'keep-in-mind' sentiment! A duo of delights!

Thank you so much Carol. I hope the wind settled for you. Where we are is always windy but this weekend there wasn't any which was strange. I hope the bike races went ok and you had a lovely weekend x

  5. Hope you're feeling better. I like the sunset card!!

  6. Wow! Two lovely cards!!! I like so much the soft colors! Your second one is my fav! Love how you used this beautiful stencil! <3

  7. These are two very lovely cards. I might have a slight preference for the wreath because you made so delicate ! And the soft grey base was definitely the color to go !

Thank you so much for taking the time to come and visit my blog, I really do love reading all your wonderful comments x
