Sometimes you need to just get inky....

Hello lovelies. Hope you are all well ?
It has been busy busy busy here, my craft room was in desperate need of being decorated and it has been something i kept putting off but we finally did it !
I then had a proper sort out of my craft room, not a crafter's sort out....you know what i mean the kind when you sort a couple of bits out but leave most of it hidden deep in drawers & boxes. I emptied every single box, drawer & unit and sorted everything...jeez I had some stuff !!
Some of it hadn't seen the light of day for at least 5 years. It took nearly a week, but it is now all sorted and have to say it looks great, my hubs did an amazing job and worked his butt off and i now have a craft space where i actually know where everything is !

I wanted to share a quick inky card that i made today. I made it following the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch !

I had started off with one idea which was seriously CAS and was going to use an embossing folder, but like the title says sometimes you need to just get inky !
This stencil is seriously old and i found it on the clear out...I don't even know who it is made by ! I inked though part of the stencil using Versamark and then used clear embossing powder so i could do a resist.
I then used Distress Inks and inked over the whole card, I started with Squeezed Lemonade, then blended Wild Honey to around 3/4 of the card, then i brought in Carved Pumpkin at the top.
The die I cut from Neenah Solar White 4 times and glued them on top of each other to give some dimension.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts and actually says "Just saying hello" but I cut the Hello off and inked up the just saying with Versamark and heat embossed with Hero Arts white Embossing powder.

I used foam adhesive on the back of the card to give it some extra dimension and created a card base using Kraft card. A nice fun card that is great to just send to someone to let them know you are thinking of them.
I hope you all have a great day.
Happy Crafting
I'd like to enter this into the challenge over at CAS(E) this Sketch.

  1. I'm sure your craft area feels amazing! I should do another purge.... it's just more fun to play with my supplies than go through them. ;)

  4. I'm having a "proper" sort too, every single scrap of paper, it started to look like I was hoarding! This is a lovely card, beautiful colours. Creative Blessings, Tracy x

  6. Wow, such a cheerful card and a gorgeous design :-) I love the sunny colours and cute combo of stamped and die cut sentiment.
Enjoy your new tidy crafting space, it sounds fab. I didn't really achieve the clear out that I intended when I redecorated my room...I guess I had a 'crafter's sort out!'
Hope all is good with you,
    Big hugs, Kat xx

  7. Yep! Yes we need to get inky and get inky often too lol! I wish I could spend hours creating but these days I'm happy if I get one panel created and ready for me to mount onto a card or whatever soon. Your card is drop dead gorgeous huni! It's funny I only started getting into stencils late last year - I love how inky I can get with them, add in a bit of stamping and I'm in heaven lol! Love the gorgeous colours you used and the sentiment and die cut bits are gorgeous!
Sorry I've been quiet - still working on my secret squirrel project I think it's going to kill me off lol! OH and brother moved my room around a couple of months ago and I am still going through my stuff Tracy - so well done you on getting it done in a week. I am mortified to admit that I've owned some of it for over ten years! I am trying to edit the stuff out that I no longer use and every week get rid of a bag full either in the bin or for donating. I hope you have a good week Karen xx
